Cristina Casanova
Cristina Casanova, M.A., M.Ed in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University, also holds EMDR certification, is a licensed Somatic Experiencing Practitioner and a Hellinger Family Constellation facilitator. As a licensed professional counselor, she has worked with adults, children and adolescents for 35 years and has trained school counselors in New York City public schools in mediation, crisis response, character education, group counseling, grief counseling and conflict resolution.
As a licensed mediator for New York State, she produced an award winning and the first bilingual video and manual in the United States on mediation for adolescents. She is the author of the book Reaching Out to Parents, focusing on cross cultural counseling and immigrant issues.
Ms. Casanova is a faculty member in the Applied Psychology Department at New York University and trainer for the Child Trauma Institute. She has facilitated workshops on trauma and systemic family constellation in the United States, Ukraine, Belgium, Spain and Mexico. She maintains a private practice in New York City focusing on integrative therapy and trauma healing.
