Janet Resnick
Janet Resnick, Ph.D is a former New York City elementary school teacher and teacher trainer. As part of her doctoral work, she created an intervention (in the form of a story) for teachers to use with acting out children who feel that their teacher doesn’t like them. She has also written on the negative effect of advice giving in group situations and trains group members and group leaders to work toward stimulating self-advice.
Dr. Resnick is a New York State licensed psychoanalyst and licensed marriage and family therapist. She was the Director of the Group Program at the Blanton Peale Institute and is an individual and group supervisor for analysts-in-training at Blanton Peale and at the Center for Group Studies. She has a private therapeutic practice in Manhattan working with individuals, couples, groups and children.
